Is there such thing as Pet Insurance (medical)? |
I need to get my cat nuetered, shots, checkup, etc. How big should a cat be before nuetering and what else should I have done at the vet? We love our Pets Best insurance policy, and I know that we could have added the wellness option that covers annual visits, shots and neutering for something like $12 more a month, which seems to be worth it for anyone who takes their animals to the vet regularly. I don't think that the wellness part had a deductible, either, but there was a maximum amount per quarter. You can check them out online to see if it would be cost effective for you: http://www.petsbest.com/. I completely agree with the poster who said that you need to look into and purchase insurace before problems come up (which they invariably do) so that everything is covered and you're not stuck with certain things being considered "pre-existing." I have also heard that six months is the appropriate time to spay or neuter. Good luck! Source(s): http://www.petsbest.com/ yes, but it probably won't cover spay/neuter or shots, and is pretty expensive, ask your vet about the age for spay/neuter, and if your vet isn't very helpful, find a new vet! www.petinsurance.com YES THERE IS PET INSURANCE ALL VETS HAVE FORMS IN THEIR OFFICES CATS OR DOGS SHOULD BE NEUTERED BEFORE I YEAR OF AGE --------- yes medical ins is available, check yellow pages, a cat can be fixed at 12 weeks, get a thorough check up, include worming yes there is pet insurance, personally we never got our cats it, though sometimes I wish we had because one of my cats has a couple medical problems and most insuraces won't cover pre existing conditions. maybe someone else can give you more info about pet insurance. Though for the most part especially if you are an established cliet at a vets office they will let you do payment plans to pay for the treatment. it is usually recomnede that you get your cat neutered at about 6 months. if you wait too long then he will start spraying to mark his territory and at that point neutering may or may not stop his spraying. |
