Insurance Medical Claim from Auto Accident? |
I Got in an accident last week and have bad back pain. Went to doctor (I have health ins) and he diagnosed me with neck and back whiplash. How much will the insurance try to give me? There's not enough info here. Money for your own bills or are you looking for a claim for "pain and suffering?" If the latter, you need to add a lot more info - who is at fault for the accident, has liability been accepted somewhere, does your policy allow you to make a claim for soft tissue injuries (what is the tort law in your state)? Your own company should pay reasonable medical bills in any state that mandates no-fault medical coverage on auto policies. If you're looking for pain and suffering money, there's not enough information to answer that question. I recommend you call your insurance adjuster or agent for some advice and direction. Feel better. They will try to settle for the LEAST amount of money they possibly can. 33% of the total cost that you pay to ALL medical costs. That is the rule of thumb.33% goes to the Doc.,the lawyer and you!Even if you do not have a lawyer, they will try to low ball you! In general, your insurance carrier will pay the medical expenses up to the limit of your coverage for individuals injured in or from your car. |
