Has anyone taken a Medical Assistant Insurance Form Class?

How was it? Was it hard? Give me details Please! Thanks in advance.

I am attending school right now for medical assisting and had to take an insurance class - dealing with medicare, workers comp, etc. I did not find the class too difficult although I will say that it was one of the harder classes I had to take. As a medical assistant we only touch on billing and coding, and dealing with insurance companies. The books that you would use for billing and coding are the CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS. It's rather easy to look up procedures and codes in those books, and filling out insurance forms isn't too difficult.

If you are actually getting into the Medical billing and coding career field, I hear that the insurance classes for that are much more difficult because they go more into depth with the billing and coding than a medical assistant would.

Are you asking about a course that trains you in clerical and clinical aspects of a medical practice?

Sounds like it would be more on the clerical side than the clinical side. You should do just fine in this class. There is a demand for this job skill.
