When applying for medical/health insurance anywhere, is citizenship required? |
If a person is to apply anywhere for medical/health insurance, do they look at citizenship/legal status? What role does this factor play in trying to apply or obtain medical/health insurance? For example, is your citizenship looked at when applying, is it denied? If it is, is there ways around this? Any info would be helpful. Well, I'm in the process of applying for health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and they do ask if you are a legal US citizen on the application. I'm not sure if they check into it or not... No, not at all i'm not sure but i think nthey look at legal status. I have health insurance and i'm not a citizen but i am a legal resident. Come to Britain - everything is free!! I don't know if they look at your citizenship, but they would need your social security number. if your a citizen, the only way you can get health/medical insurance, is to pay out the *** for it. if its offered where you work, it will be cheaper than getting it your self. americans arent able to get free medical, thats only gave to the illegals. I never heard of anyone being denied an insurance policy for not being a citizen. You can shop around for insurance with confidence. Best way to do it online.
