How do insurance companies check medical history?

How do insurance companies check medical history?

through an agency called "The Medical Information Bureau"
they really can't that information is confidention, and when you apply for insurances its easy for you to lie or they want you to get a medical check up by one of there doctors to see if your telling the truth
They usually ask you to go through a medical exam done by one of their doctors. Otherwise, they would have to get your permission to access your medical information.
Often, when you apply for insurance, the forms you sign include an authorization permitting the insurance carriers to check your medical history based on the information you have provided. Once they have that signed authorization or release, they can have access to your records unless you revoke the authorization. Of course, if you revoke the authorization, the carrier has the right to deny you coverage.
