If both the mortgage co. and my name is on a check from the insurance company- what must I do to get it cash?

The check is being issued to cover damages that occured when my toilet overflowed.

Go back to the insurance co and tell them they need to reissue you a check w/ just your name on it.
just deposit it in your bank account, thats it
Deposit it.
Both you and an authorized representative of the mortgage company must sign it. This is to make sure the money is used to repair the damage, which diminishes the value of the collateral for the mortgage. If the repirs have been made and paid for by you, you should get the money.
First of all, make sure it's YOURS.

It may not even be yours. If you plan on spending that money, and find out later that it is not supposed to be spent on something else, then you have to either return what you bought or come up with the same amount.

Your situation is vague for us to answer so ask the source of the money first.
