Where can I get travel insurance to cover the USA for an 83yr old without having to take out a second mortgage Air travel tickets paid for by credit card include insurance (Discover Card has one of the highest at $1/2 Million per ticket). Some travel insurance may be included with your house insurance. You really need to specify what your idea of travel insurance is, in other words what do you want to insure for (or against) and to what amount. if you buy a holiday from SAGA the insurance is inclusive. Kill them first, then take em over. Some type of insurance should be optional if not already included in a package when booked through a travel supplier. I don't believe you need an additional policy, as long as this person is reasonably healthy. I would recommend you book a package through a travel supplier. If you need help, contact me. They are a great company and their prices are very competitive, most companies charge a lot more and don't cover nearly as much. It is going to be a little more costly since you are covering someone that is in a higher cost bracket. But if you had to use the insurance for anything, you will see how much it can save you. You should talk with your travel agent about the insurance. They will have a lot of information for you, tell you if you need the insurance, if you already have it, etc. Also, my agent always saves me money on the travel protection because she knows the proper way to calculate it. Most of the time people over cover and spend a lot more than they really need to on the insurance. So you should definitely talk with someone that knows a little more about it.
