DISADVANTAGES for using ONLINE BANKING?? |
the internet doesn't give very many... Thanks... Disadvantages to online banking: HACKERS, VIRUSES, Computer hard drive can hold the info and somebody else can break-into your online account. So be aware to keep that computer hard drive for a long time! More negatives: power outages, people looking over your shoulder, Phishing, Spam, fake website not the banks hostile takeover. I think the FBI could interfere with the transactions. They do tap phone-lines! Flooding in the house. Loss of info. Bank loses your data by mistake and now you have no account. What do you mean by online banking? Do you mean such as looking at your account balance, etc? If that is what you mean then I don't really see how it can hurt you. However, it doesn't mean you don't need to balance your checkbook at the same time. You cant pull the money out of your computer like an ATM. I have been banking on line for a couple years now and have not had a single problem. It is so handy paying bills on line. none... Its better then waiting forever for your check to clear I have used internet banking for five years. All my income deposits automatically and I pay any bills via the net. Never had a problem. Most banks have a very good security system. I've been banking on-line since 1983 (Pronto - Chemical Bank). I moved on to Checkfree & later (18 years) I was with Chase Manhatten. I'm now with EverBank.com (2 years). I earn 3.41% APY on my checking. I get free ATM Drafts (fee refunded). I have many choices locally for making deposits to ATM's (of other banks). I could also bank by mail with pre-paid envelopes. I can transfer funds between all my other financial institutions. Bottom line; No Problem! |
