Is internet banking safe? Anyone have online banking problems? |
Is internet banking safe? Anyone have online banking problems? Yes it is safe, but you need to be careful of phishing site. Scan your computer periodically for viruses. If you are deal with large amount of money, then it is safer to do it in the bank than using online banking. I have had no problem and have used Internet Banking (IB) the past 3 years. It is convenient and I feel I have more control over my finances and more time to review my account activity. i have done it for 11 years with no problem. i don't recommend it if more than one person uses that computer. if you are not the only one using that computer be sure to click on log out on the bank site when you are done or you could be broke by tomorrow. another problem with multiple users is they can look in the temporary internet files folder and load the bank pages you visited and see everything. samething with credit card purchases. this program will get rid of all of that http://www.ccleaner.com/ get a router for your computer even if you never plan to network your compter(s). that's because the have their own ip number and an internal firewall. this type of firewall stops stuff and hsckers before they get onto your computer. firewalls on your hard drive can only deal with stuff after they get on your computer. best choice is to use both. two-way firewalls are best. they stop programs from contacting their owner to spy on you. windows firewall ia a one-way firewall. the free version of zonealarm is a two-way firewall. I have never had a problem with it. That is the way I do banking now. It is nice. The Bank's keep it pretty secure. I have been using it for over 6 years now and never had a problem. Try it, you will really be pleased. I can not remember the last check I wrote. Yes, it is very safe, it is safer than giving your credit card to a waitress at a restaurant. Just be sure when you type your information on the website, the address starts with https--and you will see a picture of a padlock on the internet explorer website. That means it is a safe website, so you can put your private information on the site..Good Luck.. most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus. i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage. besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE. download firefox for free, Just have a try: http://www.freeandbest.net/firefox/... Good Luck, Best Wishes!!! You won't get a virus from using any banking pages....just keep on top of what emails you receive and try to avoid any phishing expeditions. IE 7 is a little more helpful in that regard but even with a different browser just don't follow any quick login pages from your email without first checking the url....in fact, just type the address in yourself to login. |
