Can I use Online Banking (like BillPay) to send checks to friends?

Does anyone know if I can use bill paying system offered by banks to send checks to friends? Has anyone done this before? Thanks!

Yes, it will take a long time the friend to get the check, but you can add them as a payee in your online Bill Pay, You must enter the correct address so that the banks know where to send this.

I've found at least with bigger banks that you can pay your friend using online billpay and the check gets there in under 5 days, so it wouldn't take any longer than mailing it yourself and you don't have to deal with the envelope or stamp (or pay for them, usually).

I used to do this all the time. Citibank had a good service and it saved you the hassle of envelopes and cost of the stamps. Also, you can set it to automatically send out the check according to whatever internval you want.
