If I access my online banking on another PC (on a ship, for example) will my access codes be compromised? No, it shouldn't, as online transactions are often done in a secure mode, so no one can break the transmission. But that does not cover you if there is a keylogger on the computer that you are using, even if the browser is set to remember usernames and password, your access code is gone. As long as the website is a secure site (https://) then there is encryption between your computer and the login server that is as secure as the connection from your house. There is no difference between the internet at your house and the one on a ship, just the connection itself, high-speed or dial-up at your house and satellite out at see. They could be if the pc you are using saves your pin and account number. I dont think so if its a secure site [which they usually are] but just a thought.....Could you do something online on another pc and then get someone else to check your home pc and see if anything has happed [that shouldn't] be ready to change all numbers ids etc if it has. This generally involves "cookies", which are specific to an individual computer. You should be ok. Make sure that your browser line begins with https// and a padlock symbol is on the end of the command bar. Good anti phishing software is also an idea, and ensure a good firewall too. Then its plain sailing.
