'Popup' blocker whilst online banking? |
A 'popup' blocker came up when doing live online banking. Surely this is not right - nothing should be able to get into my account. Is my online banking secure? Like someone has previously stated, pop-ups are sometimes used to deliver additional information to the customer (ie, you). However, it could also be the case that the website you were using was dodgey or fraudulent. I'd recommend you hook yourself up with a copy of Opera and set it as your default browser. You have nothing to worry about as long as their is a lock on your browser's status bar, this indicates a "secure and encrypted" connection. Which popup blocker? Sometimes online banks use popups for information - they are benign and can be allowed ('add to whitelist' in IE options) be safe....... check with your bank... better to be safe than sorry you are right. don't fill any forms that require personal information if you are not sure that those forms are legal. spyware pop-ups may look like your bank site, i mean they can have same logo and stuff, but you need to check if address in the address bar is the same. i mean if your bank website is www.bank-online.comm than the pop-up should have the same bank-online in the address. if you suspect you can be infected by spyware, scan your computer with antispyware. i.e. spyware doctor is good for deep file scan and real-time protection: http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spyware-... |
