So tell me just how safe is online banking and shopping?

Banks use 128bit encryption keys that "modify" all the content that travels from your computer to their server so that nobody on the way can "spy" on it. With this, online banking is extremely safe. It is not possible to "crack" the 128bit code.

The greatest danger can come from the computer you are using to connect to their server. If you happen to have a keyboard scanner (program that saves everything you've written), a virus, or sth of the sort, you're login information could be compromised.

So, keep you TAN list on paper, never on the computer, change your password often and you should be fine :)

I have been on-line shopping and banking for years iv never had any problems. Stay away from bogus sites and never enter your personal information to unauthorized people. In general id say it is 99% safe.
