I wrote a personal check to someone, a week later i seen a nsf fee in my online banking.?

Its been a week since the check bounced, the person has not contacted me. I was wondering if their bank had paid for it or not?

Your bank probably paid the check, meaning they didn't return it, but they charged you the fee. So you wouldn't hear from the person you wrote the check to, since it was paid by your bank they have no idea it was nsf.

Usually if it isn't a large amount and you don't usually bounce checks, the bank will pay it for you. You should go to your bank and ask them about the fine, and they will be able to tell you if they paid the check or not.
I've bounced a fair amount of checks in my time...oops...

Do you see the check cleared as well? Sometimes my bank lists bounced checks and overdraft fees for checks they cleared as the same thing. Look up the check number on your online banking and it will tell you if they cleared it. If the check amount isn't there, they turned it away and you still owe that person money.
