How can you be sure that the passwords you use in online bank accounts won't be stolen? |
What are the security risks when using a computer at a public library to make financial transactions? What about a home computer with dialup - how can you be sure that your spyware, antivirus and firewall softwares are safe enough to use to make financial transactions? i only use my home computer to log in http://www.in4search.com/password-protec... lign="right" > Sign in to vote! when making a connection to a secure website such as bank account your running SSL 2.0 which is a security protocol found under TCP/IP protocol in windows, once this connection is established in tunneled through 128bit encryption which is very difficult to crack....only possible way is if your system before hand is infected with malware..a virus. etc, thats why it's always very important to constantly clean your system of these things, try running some programs like ad-aware...if it seems your system is still a little iffy side...reformat completely to be on the safe side, as far as when connection to a website heres a little more info on it. P.S. libraries usually have user restrictions on installing software, if none is enforced people can install key loggers which documment any password inputted, personally i wouldnt make any financial transactions unless im at home where i know everything is clean. http://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/sde... lign="right" > Sign in to vote! Yes it is safe providing you use common sence and following safety rules. Banks will often have you change your codes often. Personally I prefer not to take the chance. lign="right" > Sign in to vote! |
