The new net-gamble law that prevents credit card companies and banks from online casino transactions useless?? |
The reason why it seems useless is because it seems so easy to work around. Take Microsoft, for example. Using the Xbox360, you can buy Xbox live games using Microsoft points. When the (iPod killer) Microsoft Zune audio player is released, you'll be able to purchase songs using Microsoft points. You can buy points online with a credit card, or at retail locations with any payment method. Couldn't the online casinos use the same method and allow third party companies to sell points online, and then allow people to use those points to gamble? You are exactly right! There is no law against the actual act of online gambling. There will be ways around this hokey bill. Source(s): http://gamblingreviewssite.com Casino, sportsbook, poker info I dont know if this answers your question but some MMORPG, take world of warcraft for example, make it illegal to sell characters online. So points that someone else earns and sells on ebay or something may be illegal. I know for WoW that some say, we're selling the TIME we spent making the characters so maybe they can use that method to get around too. All in all, there are so many loopholes. |
