| *Loan,banking and credit>>>pay tax |
You're most likely to pay your county or town taxes in the form of a/an _______ tax.? |
A. property B. excise C. sales D. income I could be wrong, but I'm leaning towards B, cause for one not everyone will own a home, so thats out. Ugh...I'm stuck here.....lol Thanks for anyones input here. C. sales tax Collection of sales taxes are 'absolute'. You cannot purchase an item that is taxable without also paying the tax. Also, sales taxes 'appear' to be small. The 'tax man' may only collect a few pennies or a few dollars on most of your purchases. But, because you make hundreds or thousands of purchases each year, the total amount taken from you via the sales tax is quite substantial. Not all property taxes get paid. Not all income taxes get paid. Excise taxes may be a little tricky for this question. Products may be made or purchased outside of the town or county, and thus, may avoid the excise tax completely. sales. State and Federal taxes are based on income, local taxes come through sales. This is why you always see signs in local stores that say "Shop Local". It's for the sales tax revenue. City taxes can be either income tax or a combination of income tax + sales tax. People who work in Pittsburgh, PA would pay (I think) 1.1% income tax, + an extra 1% added to PA's 6% sales tax just for the joy of shopping in Pittsburgh. Go Steelers. I would say A. property tax. I know I paid much more in property tax last year than B or D. Sales tax is usually lower (state makes up the majority of the sales tax we pay) and is completly dependent on shopping that county. |
