Pet Insurance for dogs?

I recently bought a pup. I am thinking of getting a pet insurance for her as I am afraid of the large expenses for vet (since she is from pet store). But the information from the web is quite confusing and I am not sure how and which to choose. Does anyone have pet insurance and is very satisfied with the service? Or any to recommend?

I have Pet Care Gold insurance for my Poodles. There are different rates for the insurance. I got the one that pays 70% of your bills, not including regular check ups.

No , I dont have it , but I have heard of it . It definetly is something you can get . And as long as the Premium is paid it will be abiding , but make sure you read everything and that it pays for what you want it to . Look for "Hidden Agenda's "

I too purchased insurance for my Shih-Tzu. From what Ive read the costs outweigh the guilt one may have if one day its between the money vs. your beloved pet. I purchased VPI insurance. My vet as well as many of my friends and colleagues recommend this one. This policy covers a portion of well visits as well and I took the additional coverage for cancer. Some plans don't cover well visits proclaiming theses visits are scheduled so it can be sanctioned for but their costs are very similar to the costs for well visit coverage. I pay about $33 a month for the full gambit.
I would call your local vet. Since he/she is the one that will be taking care of your pup, they usually have their own individual preference and will give you that information right in their office. That way you will be sure they will use what insurance you are purchasing. :-) Great question and your a terrific RESPONSIBLE & LOVING PET OWNER.
