What do you think about pet insurance and do you have an opinion about which one is best?

I prefer CareCredit over any 'pet insurance,' because it works as a private line of credit that you can only use with your vet, and nothing else. I love it and it gives me a great sense of security knowing that if a huge emergency came up, I would be able to finance it without breaking the bank.

Get pet insurance!!! It helps and saves your alot of money! Banfield Healthcare for pets only charges 16$ a month! It is HIGHLY reccomended!
Pet insurance generally is only good for animals that develop long-term disease that needs long-term treatment, and emergency visits. I work in a clinic and I've seen that 90% of the time, these insurance companies find a loophole and won't cover the charges. Sort of like human medical insurance! I'd only recommend it if for some reason you expect your pet to need constant veterinary care beyond your bi-yearly check-ups and vaccinations. Insurance is expensive, and sometimes really isn't worth is.

As for Banfield...please. Banfield is an impersonal corporation that doesn't tailor to the needs of your pet, and only tries to appeal to you through your wallet. Sometimes, the best care has to cost more...because quality is often worth the extra expense.

I think pet insurance is a waste of money. Odds are when you finally need to use it the condition you need treated won't be covered - or covered very minimally. It's a far better idea to set aside a bit of money each month to care for pet emergencies and medical bills.
