Is pet insurance worth it? if so which is the best one are there any like people health insurance?

whats up with the reimbursing when i go to the doctor i pay twenty bucks and thats it is there one like that for pets?

My mom pays about $500 a year to cover two cats. I believe it's called Veterinary Pet Insurance of America or something like that. Now that may sound like a lot but one of the cats did catch feline anemia and that treatment was expensive. Another cat was attacked by an outside cat and had to have an abscess drained.

I don't know what pet you have but a lot of cats and dogs can live past 15 years and if you want to take care of them in their elderly years pet insurance might be worth it.

On a side note pet obesity is about as epidemic as Adult Human obesity. Type 2 diabetes rates are growing in many of our overweight pets.

Golden Rule...don't buy insurance for something that you can afford to pay yourself without significant hardship...or that you can avoid paying entirely.

Pet insurance would be on that list for most people.
It really depends on the value of the animal.

Not emotional value, but monetary value.
