I have pet insurance...but? |
What if I don't have the money up front. The insurance is reimbursment only.I have never used the policy but dose any body know of insurance Vets Take or pay direct? So I don't necessarily have the answer you're probably looking for, but some good advice. Since insurance doesn't generally cover anything that's really worth the cost and hassle, many people I know have actually been taking the money they would spend on the insurance and putting it into a special savings account. Instead of paying money into something that you can't use, you will have the money up front to cover any emergencies, or other situations that arise. Other people I know actually keep a special credit card that is only to be used in emergency vet visit situations, which will allow them to pay things off slowly, but also usually allows them to collect frequent flyer miles, or something of that form. Either way, you're saving yourself some money, and a lot of headaches in dealing with insurance companies Source(s): Experience: I own two english bulldogs, which = a lot of vet visits, and a LOT of non-insurance covered vet visits If you are in UK, try contacting Pet Plan. If your vet knows you have pet insurance, they are likely to be willing to wait for the money. The idea of a special savings account is also an option -- but you'd need to save a lot to cover an expensive illness or injury! Everything you're asking depends on your particular insurance company, the policy you hold with them, and the policy of your vet's office.
