What can I do about pet insurance? |
My cat ended up swallowing some thread and will most likely need surgery (I'll find out later on from the vet today). I want to be more prepared in the future (financially) for anything that may happen to my cat, and a friend suggested that I get pet insurance. I never thought or realized that there was such a thing. Where can I obtain pet insurance, what are the price ranges, and does every vet clinic accept them? Thanks. I'm not sure if the vet clinic will necessarily accept the pet insurance. At our clinic, we will fill out the paperwork for you, but payment is expected at time of service. You will then submit the paperwork in and wait for reimbursement from the insurance company. There are many different pet insurances out there, probably the best thing to do would ask the vet if they can recommend one, or just word of mouth. Some insurances give a discount on more than one pet being insured. There's also carecredit, which is good in a pinch. It's more of a loan, they pay the vet and you pay back carecredit, FYI. Hope the thread comes out so that you're cat won't need surgery. Good luck. google it and you will find a bunch ask your vet is he can recommend some it,s about $20 a month www.aspcapetinsurance.com There are a few of them but this one is from the ASPCA a trusted name in animal care... you can look into different ones as well just google "pet insurance ".. Good luck and hope your cat gets well soon !!! |
