Those who believe global warming is fake; why are insurance companies denying coverage to coastal properties? |
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2006-1... Insurance companies aren't known for their liberal leanings. Why would they push the govt. for a coherent policy on greenhouse gas emission? I don't think that Global Warming is fake. I think it could be, and that there is not enough evidence to conclude for either side. Therefore I don't think that drastic measures should be taken that will severely harm our economy. That said, there are many moderate measures that can be taken just in case it is true that we are causing tempatures to rise. Personally, I drive a small gas efficient car, walk when I can, turn out lights when I leave a room, and will purcahse a hybrid as soon as I can afford one. They always have been reluctant to provide such coverage. Those areas are more vulnerable. They also don't sell life insurance to people who are terminally ill. DUH! The reason they refused to insure my property on the gulf was because of Global Warmed HURRICANES!! They should deny insurance to farmers, because they have cows and they produce the most CO2 damaging ozone thingy stuff. I eat meat, do you? http://news.independent.co.uk/environmen... GED I WOULDN'T INSURE THEM EITHER. YOU LIVE ON THE COAST AT YOU'RE OWN RISK. THE EARTH GOES THROUGH CLIMATE CHANGE REGULARLY. THERE ARE PERIODS OF CALM AND PERIODS OF TURMOIL. WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE EARTH AT IT'S CALMEST. BUT NATURAL CHANGES ARE DUE. Because insurance companies are cheap and had to dish out a lot of money for both Louisiana and Florida. Coastal properties are a high risk, and insurance companies are only concerned about their pocket book; I don't care what anyone else says. And Global Warming is a joke. Seriously. |
