I live in apt and I"m considering getting Renter's insurance. What does it cover? Is it worth it. any feedbak Totally worth it. Some apt's include the cost in the monthly rent, but if they don't you should get it. It covers ALL of your possesions (computer, clothes, books, dishes, furniture, appliances, etc) in case of fire, flood, hurricane and such. I got mine through my car insurance and to cover $5,000 worth of stuff its like $10 a month and thats a lot of stuff! It is absolutely worth it. In some locations it is *required* for the tenant to have renters insurance. It not only covers your stuff from damage or theft, it also covers it when it is off the premises (like in your car, for instance). Renters insurance protects your valuables in case something misfortunate happens. Its pretty inexpensive and I highly recommend getting it. I say 100% YES, get renters insurance whether you live in an apartment, house, box, or coffin. Most of the time it will also cover if things have been stold or lost. I know someone that either lost or had her wedding ring stolen. Her rent ins. paid the value of the ring, (she had the appraisal papers) and it was an a very expensive ring. Rent ins. is pretty low cost too. It is worth it just for the peace of mind. God bless |
