Social Security Disability Insurance? |
I've already had three initial filings with SSA this time I'm going to appeal. Can anyone who has won benefits offer advice? Also what are some other programs that can help if I my appeal is denied? You will probably need the services of a lawyer. There are those who specialize in this area. Federal law limits the amount the lawyer can charge--usually a percentage of the initial payment. Initial payments go back to when you are declared eligible and so can be large sometimes. You would probably end up with most of the initial payment and of course your monthly benefits after that. Source(s): Personal experience as a counselor who has assisted many in applying for disability. get a good attorny my husband is 38 has health issues and was denied 3 times finally he got a lawyer one that specializes in that and he finally went to court and won his case it's been over 3 years since he first applied , first you go to there dr's which was an in and out thing they dont really examine you as long as you have copies of all your dr visits and showing you are disabled there should'nt be a problem dont give up . its just a waiting prosess we still haven't gotten a check we got the medicare but they keep saying 30 days this and 30 days that mean while were still waiting good luck . oh and about the lawyer you dont pay him inless you win your case so thats great and you know the lawyer is going to fight hard if he wants to get paid. |
