Is it true that giving your social sec number for a insurance quote affect your score? Insurance companies look at your credit report to determine your premium. This is not a charge against you as far as the credit reporting agency is concerned. They are not looking at your score in order to give credit to you. They have a right to know your SSN. Insurance companies don't need that. no. who asked you for your social they dont need it to get a quote, please be carefull to whom you give your social to. The SS is used to check your credit report. It can hurt your score if you have negative payments or bills that have been defaulted on. It can also help it if you have a good score. probably cause they run your credit to check it before they give you rates, anytime your credit is run your score drops a bit! |
