Can any one tell me how does Social and Cultural factors affect the Property and Casualty Insurance Industry? |
I have a presentation on the Property and Casualty Indsutry, My section is to discuss how demographics, social changes, and cultural changes affect the property and casulaty industry. Also how regulation ( government) regulation affects the industry. Insurance companies, RED LINE, certain areas that they aren't interested in insuring. They pay lobbyist a lot of money to stagger their underwriting lines around counties, that they are not interested in insuring the risks. If you are doing a presentation, you need to do more research than just asking on a board. I don't know, but I'll give it a shot. The price one charges for insurance is based on the demographics - what expectations the insurance company has on when/whether/how much insurance will be requested. So a crime ridden neighborhood will have to pay more. A younger driver will have to pay more. More people on drugs - higher prices. Fewer people in community, higher prices. More community minded people - the company will have to contribute more to the community, and make a big deal about it. More Somalis/Hispanics in the neighborhood, different demographics, rethinking insurance structure. |
