How do you find out if a person has life insurance with just a name and a social #? Try the state insurance commissioner in the state the person lives/lived. At the very least, they can tell you what companies are licensed to sell life insurance in that state. As an insurance broker you should have access to a website or a public record,,,,if you are not an insurance broker and/or you are starting in that business and you are just trying to get new customers, start with your friends and family and then go with small business.......dont forget get your own to be able to show them the great benefits of having one ..... impossible Well if you think you are a potential beneficiary, you would be entitled to find out, but there is no central repository of information on overall policies for you to easily inquire. You'd have to contact every insurer licensed in your state to see if the person you are concerned with was insured. And, since most states have many hundreds if not thousands of life insurers licensed there, it will take a very, very long time. It shouldn't be allowed http://www.insurance-assurance.com/... Don't think you can do so with only that info other than calling all companies licensed in your state. It depends on your reason for inquiring. If you are a beneficiary that suspects that your deceased might have a policy in force somewhere, that's one thing. If, on the other hand, you are attempting to find this information because you wish to use it for marketing reasons, that's an entirely different issue, and pretty much uncalled for. |
