While depending on social security can I apply for a life insurance policy ?

If I'm lazy to go to work can I depend on the social security income ? While depending on social security can I apply for a life insurance policy ?

Social security does not pay out much. If you read the fine print, social security is a supplemental income to your sources of income. That means its additional income, but it won't be much. So, the answer is no, you should not be dependent on social security. You need to build your own savings by whatever means necessary. The best way is to get a job, part time or full time, and then open a Roth IRA account and invest in mutual funds.

As for life insurance, anyone can buy it. As long as you can the premiums, you can get it. If you're not working, I don't know how you can pay for it.

You can't collect SS because you are lazy and don't want to go to work.
Ha, if you were living off SS or SSI you couldn't afford a life insurance policy anyway, it's bare bones living. If you are on SSI good luck on getting ANY life insurance policy.
Get real, get to work and stop your dreaming guy. Life is not a bowl of cherries.
you can always apply for a life insurance policy....but you should also apply for a job if your able to work
U can always take a Life Insurance Policy, But take care to pay the premiums well in time.
If you are currently receiving Social Security disability benefits you can do whatever you want with your income. The only income that you need to report is income from work or worker's comp.

However, if you are receiving SSI disability any income counts. But life insurance is a bill, not income. If the life insurance can be cashed in then it needs to be reported. I didn't work with SSI so if that's what you are receiving I would suggest that you contact SS at 1-800-772-1213.

If you are getting disability benefits, I suspect its based upon a mental disorder which can cause lethargy - not laziness.

Can you count on your income? Not really. Every so often there will be a medical review which may result in termination of benefits if med records show that your condition has improved to the point that you are able to work.
