Do you have to have vicious dog insurance in the state of Ohio for Pit bulls? I saw on the news about a week ago (Cleveland/Akron area) that tags and insurance would be required for people who own those dogs. And they would not be allowed to be in the yard (with no fence), without a leash or chain. If you are a homeowner your insurance will usually require you to carry special coverage for dogs who fall under the "dangerous dogs" category (i.e. pit bulls, pit bull mixes, and dogs who have bitten someone). The best person to ask this is your insurance agent. No one here will know the answer. Sorry! i live in pa and my homeowners insurace was adjusted to cover damage my pitt could do, but i also have a rottweiler and a geman shepherd who would have also sent my rates up if you dont have extra insurance, get it, because if you have a pitt bull and it does bite someone, however unlikely, even though your insurance will prbably cover it they might drop you for not informing them you had a pitt bull its just good sence if you live in an apartment, renters insurance generally doesnt cover pets, so it might behoove you to get insurance so you dont loose your shirt in case of the unexpected pitt bulls rock |
