Will state farm increase my auto insurance if I get a speeding ticket?? |
I got a speeding ticket going 88 in a 70 in GA. That鈥檚 2 points on my license. I was wondering if a rumor that I heard was true. Some people were telling me that they give you your first 2 points for free i.e. wont raise your payments for just 2 points. Is this true? Do you have proof? If it was your first ticket, you might not see any change in your rates. Some states have laws governing when and why auto insurers can change policyholders' premiums; often, insurers are not allowed to raise your rates after just one speeding ticket or other citation. Different companies will have different policies (I'm not too familiar with State Farm's). It can raise your premium for about 3 years though. Source(s): http://www.carinsurance.com/kb/content10... Not if its your first ticket and your over 21. I believe they will thats why I cancelled them for Allied insurance. Some one had hit our truck from the side.No fault on our part and they raised our insurance $400.00 me Only way that will happen is if you have received alot of speeding tickets in a course of 1 year. Please drive carefully. They will watch you alot more carefully now though. Live in Cali and got 1 and no increase in premiums. |
