I'm Pregnant... I do not have insurance and I make too much $ for state aid. Any suggustions? |
As a side note.... Women need more health care options with regards to pregnancy. I honestly believe if there were, fewer women would choose to end a pregnancy... I hope someone out there will have some ideas... Thanks for your help I just paid as I went in my 3rd pregnancy. When my husband switched jobs and we got Blue Cross insurance, my OBGYN re-reimbursed me every penny I had paid! So that was nice. You can try to get yourself on a health plan, about $200.00 a month for just you, it would be cheaper. If you have any complications it would pay for its self. If your job is not important, find one with health insurance. Unions are good for that. Additionally, a good insurance plan is like an extra $500.00 to $700.00 a month in pay! If you make TOO much money then that means you can AFFORD health insurance DUH!!! This is not other peoples fault. I don't understand how you can blame your lack of health care on people who have had abortions. However I am in canada and hear that you have pretty bad health care. Do they actually charge you doctor fees and hosiptal fees to have a baby? I dont really know how to advise you. Can you buy a individual health plan outside of work? If dad's not helping, you have to give your employer an ultimatum. If they don't want to help with insurance, you quit. Get a job at any place you have to that has insurance. Then unemployment should make up the difference. And if your making less... [edit] I also have to add, making between 13,000 and 35,000 dollars in the US is about the worst economic scenario a human can be in. ofcourse you can buy health insurance privately, the last time I priced it for us it was more than our rent. Some states do realize the working poor have it worse than the well to do and the dirt poor and have a sliding scale for healthcare. You obviously have accses to the web, check out your states web site for a healthy kids, healthy moms program. [edit] with regaurds to the girl here on student visa, I stand corrected. i thought! any pregnant women would get state health insurance..and would be covered until your 6week check up after the baby is born! and then the baby will be covered for some time! but if you make enough money i suggest buy your own health care! Well for one, I'd stop buying the chai lattes and bikini waxes. You need to cut back in a major way and start saving! If the state ain't gonna help you, then you are liable for every penny. I'd suck it up and get insurance. you should be able to afford for your own expense if you are making too much. Otherwise, quit the job and apply medicaid as others. Or buy own your insurance plan. Not too expensive. about US$500 per month or so. then discontinue months after you give birth or ask your employer to have you a plan even it's not included in your contract, you can still ask him or her to buy it for you and you pay for it. it's cheaper when buying from Company than individuals. And make sure it has "pre-existing medical conditon" |
