Involved in a car accident in Michigan.Their insurance com asked me to pay the damage. But MI is no fault State

I thought Michigan is no fault State. Every party deal with their own damage. I am not Michigan resident. How to deal with it? Help!

The state laws may require everyone to have their own insurance, but that doesn't stop the insurance companies from coming after you for reimbursement if you caused the accident.
I would say you had better get it cleared with their insurance company and yours as well. Usually, the insurance companies take care of the damage/settlement and all that would happen to you is your insurance rates would go up if you are found to be "at fault." Michigan's laws are tricky because I know if you rear-end someone you are entirely responsible for the accident regardless of the circumstances surrounding it. Thus, you had better make sure you're not getting scammed and contact the insurance companies.

If you caused the damage , pay for it and quit depending on others to pay for your mistakes. Deadbeat.
Under a no-fault system it doesn't matter which driver made the mistake that caused an accident each individual recovers from his or her own insurance carrier, regardless of who caused the accident. However, if one or both of the drivers are from areas that do not have a no-fault system in place, then one or both drivers may be asked to pay for damages. Best option is to discuss your rights with your insurance agent.
Each driver's insurance company is responsible for paying for that insured car's repairs. HOWEVER, the other person's insurance company CAN come after you (if you are legally at-fault) to cover his/her deductible. That's completely legit, if that's what they are asking for. And if the damage repairs cost less than their deductible, they should be able to get you to pay for all the repairs. It will probably be your insurance company that covers that deductible, not you personally.
Live in MI, been in several accidents (only one was actually my fault, for the record).
