What US states do not require auto insurance to register.?

wisconsin doesn't. i wish it did to keep all the uninsured off the roads.

NH does not require auto insurance to register a vehicle - but if you leave the state, all the other states around require auto insurance & it is illegal to drive in other states without it. In VT you do not need insurance to REGISTER your vehicle but, you need it to drive your vehicle in the state & you also need to show proof of insurance when you get the car inspected which is required within about a week after you register the vehicle.
Here in Ohio, you need either insurance or proof of financial responsibility--be able to pay up in case you screw up.
