Can my wife and I have a joint car insurance when we are in two states?

Hi, I am at MI and my wife is at DC (I think DC will have a high insurance rate. I'll move to DC after a year). We have two cars. Could we have a joint car insurance if one car is registered at MD and one car is registered at MI?

Thanks for your attention,

You can have joint insurance. The rate depends on the locations. It depends also on if the company is licensed for insurance in both areas.
have to be the same address for both cars under both names
I think you both have to be in the same state.
