How many ultrasounds will I get with medicaid (state funded insurance)? |
Well this is my second child, half way through my first pregnancy I switched over to the dr that I plan on having with this second baby. Heres the thing, last time he said there was no need for me to know what the gender of the baby was. My question, how many ultrasounds will medicaid pay for and generally during what stage of pregnancy, seeing that every dr that I have known is different. I think that it just one around 20-25 weeks, I also had medicaid with my daughter but I had 2 ultrasounds, the first being at 12 weeks to find out how far along I was. My Dr also told me that the techs generally don't tell you the sex of the baby unless it is clearly visible and of course if you want to know. We didn't come right out and ask but my boyfriend made some comment on what was going on down below or something like that, about half way through and she told us. And don't let the ignorance of other people make you feel bad or ashamed about receiving assistance, that's what our tax money goes to and I definitely know what you mean about the 400 dollars a month for health insurance, how are people supposed to live after that is taken out of your check??!!Its crazy!! Well good luck to you hope everything goes well!!! i had 1 around 20 weeks, thats all i had when i was preg. with my son too. so if its not an at risk pregnancy i think just 1. Normally one....except if Doctor requests two need state and country if your form USA and are on medicaid you should not be having anymore kids and are not working and getting insures and using my tax money !! I pay that much for mine so now I am paying for your and mine that's not fair are you going to pay me back when you get a real job!!! Medicaid will nto pay for anything that is not medically necessary. Generally, one ultrasound is considered necessary (to check for obvious defects in the baby) BUT- depending on your dr, and the US tech, they may not allow you to find out the sex.Since your dr already said that it is not necessary to know the sex, it looks like you;ll have to wait until the baby is born to find out. From experience, medicaid will pay for ultrasounds that the Dr. deems necessary. Optional ones would have to be paid by you. medicaid will pay for as many as you need, i am high risk and had to have one every two weeks, and all of them were covered. its up to your doctor how many you get though. |
