Where can I find affordable car insurance in PA for college students?

I will be learning to drive pretty soon and I want to know the cheapest and affordable car insurance out there for students.

That's not really a question we can answer. The cost of your insurance depends on several factors, including the age and model of the car, whether or not you need liability only or full coverage, your driving record, the number of years you have been driving, your geographic location, the amount of time the vehicle will be on the road, and some companies now check your credit as well. Your best option is to look up insurance companies in the yellow pages and just start calling around and getting quotes. Make sure you are comparing the same coverages at each place, then pick the one who gives you the best quote. I hear that State Farm gives good student discounts, but I'm not sure if that applies only to high school students or if college students are included as well. You may want to check them out. Unfortunately car insurance isn't cheap... I've been driving for 4 years now (I'm 20), never had a ticket or accident, and because I'm a 20 year old male i pay 1,920 a year. Maybe my new car has a little to do with that, but still, it's ridiculous.
Allstate is the cheapest for me (suprisingly because usually they are expensive). But check with state farm too. Actually some insurance companies have programs where if go away to college and dont take a car they won't charge you nearly as much, but if you will be commuting (like i do) then just check for some sort of a good student discount. And take a drivers ed course, they are very stupid and boring but those combined discounts (and never getting a ticket) save me about $100 a month.
There are many factors that can affect your insurance premiums. Age is one of the factors used in calculating your insurance rates. Students and young drivers in general pay a higher insurance premium. If you are a student or insuring a student, you know finding cheap car insurance can become a difficult task. Fortunately finding cheap student car insurance is easy and can save you time and money. Many insurers don't offer specific student or young driver car insurance, but some carriers take into consideration your age and current occupation to give better options for better premiums.

There are also carriers that give discounts for student drivers. Here are some of those requirements with some of our carriers:

* Under age 25 is a full-time student maintaining a "B" average, or otherwise qualifies as a "good student".

* A young driver qualifying as a "Good Student" is a full time student in high school, college/university or a certificate degree program.

* In schools designating grades by letter, had a grade average of B or its equivalent

* In schools where numbers are used to designate grades, had an average of at least 3 points for all combined subjects
Is ranked scholastically among the upper 20% of his/her class
In schools that maintain a Dean's list, Honor Roll or comparable listing for scholastic achievement, was included on such a list
