I entered the wrong account number on my taxes and all i was missing was the last digit.? |
I have tried contacting the irs but all i get is a automated machine. I dont think it went into the wrong account because it was missing the last digit. Can i fix this or is it lost? Thanks If you are due a refund, and your direct deposit information was incomplete, the IRS will mail your refund check. This could take several weeks. For information on the status of your return, go to the attached link and enter the requested info. Source(s): http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0... It is not lost, since accounts have been assigned different group numbers so no need to worry, however your money is in pending contact concern authorities The bank should reject it back to the IRS and the IRS will send you a paper check in the mail this will delay your refund by approximately 2 weeks There is no way to change the account number for DD at this time Internal Revenue Service 1-800-829-1040 the irs releases money every friday. so if you entered the wrong account number i strongly suggest you contact them on tuesday. they will be closed on monday for the holiday. the account number you entered may not exist, so it probably will come back as rejected. |
