Before spending the money on a CPA or lawyer, try contacting the Small Business Administration (SBA) in your community. You also might try contacting the Wage And Hour Commission about withholdings. As far as insurance, some states require workers' compensation and some don't. OSHA might be helpful in finding out. Most telepphone books have a section for government agencies--pick out one that looks like they might have the info you need and start dialling. One who is trustworthy and knowledgeable about the laws for tax deductions in your area. State deductions vary from one another.
