How do I know what tax bracket I'm in? If you don't know, you're in a low one. Pub 17, page 264, has the tax brackets. Look to see where your adjusted gross income falls. For example, married filing jointly, $80,000, is 25%. Oops, of course Judy is right. TAXABLE income not AGI. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p17.pdf... Your TAXABLE income, not your adjusted gross, determines your bracket. Look at the table for your filing status as CarVol... said, to see what bracket you're in, but use your taxable income not your AGI. |
