If i have an income of 145k in texas with no itemized deductions what tax bracket am i in? if your single with no dependents.......28% bracket if married with 2 dependents.....25% A pretty good one!! A bracket high enough to be able to afford an accountant. There is no state income tax in Texas. It depends on a few factors: 1)Filing status. 2)Number of exemptions 3)Adjusted gross income, due to IRA deductions, alimony paid, etc. Not all claimed from Schedule A. 4)Depends on how many tax credits you have not on Schedule A. 5)Other taxes you have to pay such as self employment, IRAs, etc. 6)Also depends on how much you have made in payments for that fiscal year. This, of course, is in reference to your Federal tax return. I have no idea what your State requirements are. Those vary from state to state. Tax forms, 1040 & Schedule A for Itemized Deductions. Also former IRS employee. If you are single and truely have no deductions and this is W2 money you are in the 28%. There are ways to avoid paying taxes on some of your money... you should consult a tax professional. |
