Working tax credits in the UK?

What are the conditions that make you eligible to claim for this sort of benefit?

I know it has something to do with how much you currently earn

Could someone explain??

dont agree with honest girl as i get 12000 a year and i get working tax credit, i think you have to work over 16 hours and be on a low wage, having kids help but i dont think it is essential, i would try phoning tax office up and asking
you would be better going to the dept of work and pensions website for proper info.
Hi,

Working Tax Credits are for those of us who work but get a lower paid rate.
The amounts of hours you need to be working is dependant on your age, whether or not you are responsible for children or have disabilities.

For more info about seeing if eligable and to claim call HM Revenue & Custom on 0845 300 3900.
They are open 8am - 8pm and can answer any questions you have.

All the best!

If you are 25 years and over and are working more than 30 hours a week then you would be entitled to working tax credit.

This goes for if you are 16years and over and have a child or a disability and work at least 16 hours a week then you will also qualify.

But just so you know that if you earn more than 拢11,000 per annum you will not receive a penny.
