Anyone taken on the UK Tax Credits and come out on top?

I don't mean over the 'supposed' overpayments, but over claims cancelled by accident and then them wanting 拢拢 back?
just wondered.

Yes, we sort of fall into both categories, they cancelled our claim 'by accident' and then tried to tell us we owed them 拢1500!! We phoned them every day, hassled them basically and they finally admitted last week that it was their error and they will now be backdating our claim to April and we are also claiming compensation for phone calls/time taken etc. Keep fighting, they have had a system error but it takes a long time to get someone to admit that!
well they told me i owed over 拢4000 i even had a debt collector letter

this was going on for months,in the end i sent them a letter how i was feeling about them,in the end i didn't have to paye, they gave me 拢50 for any inconvenience and they also gave me 拢20 for phone call costs

its all in the letter,if you have a problem write them a letter
hahahaha you must be joking, they are useless.

We had an issue with them, i called them, they wouldn't speak to me, only my wife, even though the query was related to my tax/pay on which the payments are calculated.

they are useless. apparantly they had overpayed us for a few months, and so, without warning, they just stopped paying us. OK fairs fair, they overpayed us, we didn't know because their system is unknown to the world. but we had to suffer hard for it, surely some warning or reduced payments would have been better.

Also made a call to them a couple of times, got told one thing by one adviser, then called again to confirm as i wasn't sure, and got told something completely different by another adviser.

how on earth can you 'win' against them when they change their minds so often and refuse to speak to you when they choose.????
