How to work out last years earnings for tax credits?!?

My tax credits have been stopped because we didn't do our annual decleration thing (I was sure it had been done)
My partner had a couple of jobs last year and i'm not sure if or where the p45's are to work out how much he got paid for 2006-2007. Is there a way I can find out without having to rumage the house house for p45s that might not even be there?!
Yes I know they should all be kept in a safe place and i'll know that for the next time but for now I really need to get this sorted quickly! Please help! Will the tax office be able to tell me?

I had the same thing u can phone up his tax office but he needs to be next to u or they wont talk to u and then they will send u the information in a letter. Then u just phone up the tax credits office again hope this helps hun.

they might not tell you, tho they might tell him, but you may well need your tax code, which is either on a payslip or on those p45s
Go to the citizens advise bureau (CAB) there is one in most city's or available by phone.

They will advise you, and that is the best advise.

On another note, how the Government can penalise you for not having the figures they must already have themselves is beyond me.

if you still have the pay slips for march this year, the total for the year will be on them. its usually worded something like....total before tax. thats the figure you need to give them from both job payslips.
if you phone your tax office they will help you but your partner will have to phone himself for his totals for the year as they wont discuss it with you for data protection reasons.
