How to make a complaint

There are two main steps you need to take in making your complaint.

Step 1
We expect you to contact the organisation involved to give it a chance to respond and to try to put things right.

Step 2
If you are not satisfied with the answer you get, or if you do not receive an answer, you should send your complaint to your MP who will decide whether to pass it to the Ombudsman.

You can find out who your MP is by going to the constituency locator. Alternatively, telephone our Helpline or the House of Commons Information Service on 020 7219 4272.
