Are churches really just tax exempt businesses? Do they exist just so they can make money from members? It's actually a completely genius scam. Threaten people with hell, and they'll give you 10% of their income. I just wish I had thought of it first There really oughta be some tax system introduced. Something with an adjustable scale. Let the tiny and small churches retain tax exempt status. The biggies gotta hand over X percentage of earnings. I may just be cynical, but that's my belief. EXACTLY. Why more people don't realize this, I don't know. Not all churches but the catholic church alone . They refuse to pay their taxes to thge government. Give Caesar what is due for Caesar. jtm Yes, and yes... and they also exist to grow voters... All Churches in the U.S are tax exempt... Not the the RC Pretty much. I think they should be taxed like any other business. They advertise like one, they take your money like one, and they step all over people's rights like one. |
