My son gets SSI for a disability(autism) do I have to file taxes for that?

I am his representative payee, and he is only 12, I am a sahm(new) and I have filed taxes up until this year (this is also the first year he has recieved SSI), however I am not sure if I have to file taxes under the "unearned" income, as it is a household contribution for meeting the needs of my son. Anyone have any idea if I have to file taxes even though the money is my childs??

No you do not need to file taxes for your son...nor do u have to put it on your taxes .. and as long as you pay more than half of your son's total support and qualify you can still get unearned income credit.. I work for a tax company
No, you don't show the SSI on your tax return, and don't file a return for him unless he has other substantial income that requires a return to be filed for him.
