How can I get my tax information from last year if I lost my copies?

I need to know how much I made to report on my fafsa application...

If you had a paid tax preparer for last year, they should be able to print you another copy. If you can't contact the preparer, prepared your own return, or filed online, you can request the info from the IRS. Because you don't need a full copy of your return, you can request a "tax return transcript;" it will arrive within two weeks and will contain all of the major line items from the return (Total Income, Adjusted Gross Income, Exemptions, etc).

You can request the transcripts by calling the IRS at 1-800-829-1040, or you can file Form 4506-T. Please check out the IRS links below for more details. Good luck! :-) Source(s): IRS Tax Topic 156 - Copy of Your Tax Return 鈥?How to Get One

Contact the IRS at their 1-800 number. They can send you a copy. If it's a generic copy, it is free. A detailed copy costs a small fee. Usually takes 2-4 weeks to receive it, though.
