I'am looking for information on deliquient property taxes in Tn.where can I find information about this? |
My family has property that the taxes hasnt been paid on in along time. And Im trying to find out how I can aquire this property for the back taxes. The county wont give me information on this because Iam a distant reliative. The only thing the county would tell me is that the property will be sold on the court house steps. If you know the property, you can pay the taxes in the name of whoever has it almost up until it's auctioned off. Being a distant relative sounds like discrimination to me. But once it's sold, your out of luck and have to bid with everyone else. Talk to whoever's name is on the property. Tax records for property are public records. You can inquire anonymously through a real estate agent. All counties have a list of properties to be bid on. They either post them on a board at the courthouse, on-line, or will provide you with a list. Sometimes one can get more information by speaking less. I can guarantee that no one asked you if you were a relative. You gave this information on your own. Keep in mind, if there is a mortgage in many cases the person procuring the property is responsible. You have to make sure you find out first. If you have the money to pay the back taxes, you can just give the relative the money to pay their taxes. I have never encountered a county not willing to accept money they are owed. That is why many properties offered on the first listing do not get auctioned off. Real Life. ask.com ask.com |
