*Loan,banking and credit>>>tax revenue

Okay expert know it alls. Why does Israel hold tax revenues for the Palestinian Authority?

("Israel started withholding the tax revenues, which it collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority, on February 1, 2006 after the Islamist militant group Hamas trounced Abbas's secular Fatah faction in parliamentary elections in January.")
-------------------
this is just a part of a news report by Yahoo. You can find if youself. Just want those who DON"T know, to learn why it is that Israel holds tax revenues (they are turning over 120 million this week and then another 50,000 next week).

because this " israel " does not like the democratic outcome of the election. people voted in an election for hamas, but " israel " will not respect the democratic choice people made in free and fair elections.
Money, Greed, Wealth, Ego...Take your pick of any or all or you can add some.
Maybe because Hamas is a terrorist organization and they don't want to fund terrorists? Just a thought...or a statement of the obvious reason.
Because they could . 'Course , if the Palestinians had their **** together , that couldn't and wouldn't happen . Would any minimally competent, self-respecting government allow somebody else to colllect their money?
A brief explanation to these tax revenues- Say, when a new car from Germany or the United States rolls onto the streets of Gaza or Ramallah, it has a conduction sticker bearing the Hebrew letters forming the word "Passed" stuck on its windshield for several months.

That sticker is a mark of the special customs and security checks conducted at the Israeli seaports of Ashdod or Haifa, which serve as the main entrances for most of the foreign goods bound for the West Bank and Gaza. Palestinians import an assortment of products, ranging from Swedish water pumps, cars and corn flakes from the US, toys from China, and the like. All of them reach their destinations only after they've been through Israeli port authorities and Israeli security checks.

At these Israeli ports, Palestinian importers are required to pay the Israeli authorities the value-added tax of 17%, as well as whatever taxes are due on goods that come in on their way to the West Bank or Gaza. These transactions (along with direct Palestinian transactions with Israeli firms and merchants) last year yielded revenues of $711 million.

According to the Oslo accords (and by standards of common sense and fairness), the revenues should serve the people who ultimately buy the goods. These tax receipts are not donations of goodwill from Israel; they are not charity. This is not like, say, Japan foreign aid money, which is given freely by the Japanese and can be withheld if Japan chose to stop giving it. These are tax revenues that are due to the people in the territories where the goods are headed, and Israel by practice has no right to withold its proceeds.

In doing so, this Israeli orchestrated economic stranglehold effectively debilitates and cripples the Palestinian economy. If one was to look at it, Israel is killing the Palestinians with their own money by withholding it.
Why???? Because the Israelis are smart businessmen. I wouldn't turn over a dime to Fatah. I'd spend it on rockets and armament.
